Performance problem with bamboo connected to crowd

Hey,

we are using Confluence, Jira, Bitbucket and Bamboo in our company which are all connected to Crowd( Crowd is connected via ldap to our active directory).

For all applications we are using nginx as a reverse proxy and load balancer and had no problems. But for some time we have performance problems with Bamboo. Working on the UI is sometimes taking too much time and often you need to wait 30 seconds for a page to load.

After further investigation of the nginx logs with splunk it seems there are a lot of bamboo requests going through nginx on crowd site (more than 15 times more than for the other tools). And the time doesnt matter. During the night we have approximately the same number of requests.

I checked the log files and there is one request that is send multiple times in a second. It is this request:
Bamboo_IP_Address - bamboo [06/Dec/2017:16:11:09 +0100] "GET /rest/usermanagement/1/config/cookie HTTP/1.1" 200 165 "-" "Jakarta Commons-HttpClient/3.1" "-"

My first suggestion is that this request is the reason for the performance problems of bamboo.  Do you have maybe other suggestions or a solution how this problem can be solved and this request reduced?

Could you provide some statistics information?

How many users do you have in Bamboo? 

Because I want to understand it is regression or not, reg. this issue

As I understand it is possible caching.
