Bamboo authentication to GitHub deprecation problem ?

I was creating new Bamboo CI server and got this message from github:

On August 12th, 2020 at 19:20 (UTC) you used a password to access an endpoint through the GitHub API using Apache-HttpClient/4.5.10 (Java/1.8.0_261):

https://api.github.com/user/repos?per_page=100

Basic authentication using a password to the API is deprecated and will soon no longer work. Visit https://developer.github.com/changes/2020-02-14-deprecating-password-auth/ for more information around suggested workarounds and removal dates.

I try to find way to configure it for token or SSH but i didn't find way to do that ?

What can i do ?
How i can continue using Bamboo and GitHub after September 30 ?

Currently using Bamboo 7.1.1

Any help will be appreciated.

Hi @Gabie Lambrechtse,

Thanks for bringing this up. I just tested in Bamboo 7.1.1 and you may just use your Personal Access Token (PAT) in place of password in your linked repository of type GitHub repository.

In the meantime, I will bring this to our developers' notice to make appropriate changes to this plugin's UI. Please monitor BAM-20748 as @Steffen Opel _Utoolity_ suggested for updates.

Just to close the loop, this has already been fixed in Bamboo 7.1.3 and above.

That's an excellent question, and I'm afraid support for personal access tokens is simply not available yet - given the looming deadline I highly recommend to watch, vote, and ideally comment on the resp. feature request to hopefully get Atlassian's attention so that they can fast-track this crucial update for the supposedly widely used GitHub integration:
