Hi,
we are in process of removing the tomcat manager on our web applications. I assume Bamboo user tomcat manager to check the status of the application. What are the major issues I would bump into if I remove tomcat manager other than not able to use any of the tomcat related task within bamboo.
Is there are any alternative way of check if application running from bamboo without the tomcat manager?
Scripting it somehow. We have the same issue. You can hit the web application and scrape the return code (404, 500, etc.) On our deployments we copy to a staging location and have a script running on the tomcat host that checks for new war files and autodeploys them when it finds them.
Apparently the tomcat application manager is deemed "too insecure" for our use.
