Firewall ports between Bamboo and external MySQL database

We experimentally moved our Bamboo server to a different IP address in response to a security need, but after doing so there were connectivity errors between Bamboo and the external MySQL server. We successfully rolled back to the former IP address. I suspect we need to modify firewall settings for the new IP address. But which?

My question: Which ports and protocols should be opened in a firewall between Bamboo server and an external MySQL database?

You should:

• configure your MySQL server to accept TCP/IP connections
• on firewall open the port that your MySQL is using (by default it is 3306)
