We have a JIRA ondemand that we are moving to JIRA inhouse. We already have a Bamboo inhouse. We want to install JIRA inhouse, import the backup of JIRA ondemand and then setup the application links between Bamboo inhouse and JIRA inhouse. We also want to use the feature - where Bamboo users are actually managed in JIRA. So any user created in JIRA inhouse will also have a minimum of Bamboo read only access. Not every JIRA/Bamboo user should be abe to do a build and deploy. Secondly, we have our own LDAP. We want JIRA inhouse itself to authenticate passwords against LDAP. Is this possible ? JIRA being Bamboo's user management tool and authenticating password against our own LDAP. if you can point us to the correct documentation, we would be glad to read it.
Careful in migrating JIRA OnDemand to JIRA Download of version 6.2.1. There is a major bug that the user of OnDemand will not able to login after the migration as you can see in https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/JRA-37574
Integrating Bamboo with JIRA documentation can be found in https://confluence.atlassian.com/display/BAMBOO/Integrating+Bamboo+with+JIRA
But don't stop there, we have Code Development feature in the latest Bamboo and JIRA which you can find more information in the following links
Connecting Bamboo to use JIRA as the User Management, can be done with the following steps
And lastly to have JIRA to connect to your LDAP to authenticate, please see https://confluence.atlassian.com/display/JIRA/Connecting+to+an+LDAP+Directory
In addition, if you think that it would be easier to just manage the users in LDAP, you can also get Bamboo to connect with LDAP referring to https://confluence.atlassian.com/display/BAMBOO/Integrating+Bamboo+with+LDAP
