We need to relate our elastic instances with an existing AWS VPC. Does this require that we create a custom elastic image? If not, where do we choose the VPC subnet with which to associate new instances?
For installation to VPC you may wish to do not use stock AMIs as it is hard to configure the way you want. Including custom ports, DNS, separating a database or just having a good secure configuration for you AWS EC2 instances and VPC networks.
So, I would recommend to take a look on the professional deployment services like Deploy4Me to get your installation of Atlassian products done by best practices. Just check it out: https://deploy4me.com/en/install/#Vendors=Atlassian
You can use a stock image. Select a VPC on the image configuration page.
