update bamboo global variable from deployment project

I have a global variable called last_deployed_commit_id . Ater a succesful release I want to update this variable from bamboo deployment project, is it possible? I am using this variable to get all the files changed between last deployment and the last commit.

if not, is here a better way to store this information ?
