Trigger specific Bamboo Plan-Branch from within JIRA when releasing a version

Hi

I found this

and tried it in JIRA. Looks pretty cool BUT: Our release version is in an release-branch in our VCS and the release-branch is consumed by a release-plan-branch in Bamboo. When starting the release process from within JIRA there is no way to select the specific plan-branch. Instead only the base-plan gets triggered... but thats useless because maybe there are already development for the next version is going on.

Is there a way to do this? Any chance to get this implemented?
