What's the prognosis for Sonar support on Bamboo?

The current Sonar plugin from Marvelution is clearly dead. It hasn't been touched in over a year and doesn't support anything beyond Bamboo 5.1

Are there any projects in the works to bring us a Sonar plugin that works with current levels of Sonar and Bamboo?

In particular, are we going to get support for Bamboo branches so that we can readily see Sonar results for branches that fail their Sonar task?

We're going to revisit our approach towards so called "unsupported plugins" in Bamboo 5.8.

You might expect that all Bamboo plugins owned by "Atlassian Labs" on Marketplace will be released in sync with new Bamboo releases. As for supporting plugins owned by 3rd party vendors but not maintained anymore - everything depends on the license and vendor cooperativeness. In most optimistic scenario Bamboo team might fork their source code and provide updates. 

As for providing support for new tools I'll create issues in our public bug tracker, link them here and wait for the votes to prioritize any future work. It might also be the case that some of them will be created during work on Bamboo 5.8

I've been asking this for a while. 

I just want to be clear – Bamboo has ***zero*** support for code quality tools. Cobertura, jacoco, pmd/cpd, findbugs, tattletale, xradar, jdepend, jarchitect – and, yes, Sonar. I find it ironic that a tool built in Java, that seems to mostly be geared towards Java build tools, has no support for code quality.
