Why does my manual elastic instance automatically shutdown?

I have my Bamboo elastic instance set for manual control, but every now and then (like once a month) it shuts down all by itself, and I have to restart it manually.  Is this a bug?

All instances will be shutdown during Bamboo upgrades. In most of the cases, it's Monday.
