bamboo branches once daily build but not the trunk

I have a plan with three branches. Currently the main plan is configured to build from a branch and one of the branches is configured to build from the trunk. I want to schedule a daily build on the (trunk) branch but when I schedule it causes the main plan build to run rather than the branch build I actually want to build. I only see the scheduling feature on the main plan not on the branches. What am I missing? Is it required that my main plan be built before a branch can be built?

My repository is SVN so I'm not doing any of the branching automagically.
