Hello Bengaluru Community!
I’m Sanam Malleswari, a Atlassian Engineer at HCLTech and Atlassian Community Champion. I recently had the amazing opportunity to attend my first-ever in-person Atlassian Community Event in Bengaluru June 28th 2025, and I’m still buzzing from the energy, conversations, and inspiration it sparked!
The Event – What It Was All About
The event was titled:
“Atlassian Team '25 Recap: Unlocking the Power of Atlassian Tools in Bengaluru”
It brought together Atlassian users, experts, product managers, Champions, and volunteers under one roof — all passionate about making teamwork better with Atlassian tools. And let me tell you — the vibe was electric!
The event featured a dynamic lineup of sessions that delivered practical insights, productivity hacks, and strategic perspectives on maximizing the power of Atlassian tools:
The opening session introduced two powerful tools — Streamlining Tools and Site Optimizer — aimed at improving Jira performance. These tools help clean up unused fields, isolate or split schemes, and maintain overall site health, enabling smoother operations and faster navigation for admins and project managers alike. All about upcoming new feature in Jira.
Aditya Mani, Senior Product Manager at Atlassian, delivered an engaging walkthrough of Jira Service Management (JSM). The session covered essentials such as setting up service desks, managing incidents and on-call schedules, tracking assets, and using automation and Atlassian Intelligence to enhance IT operations.
Venkateshwarrao P from ANI Technologies showcased how the Atlassian Command Line Interface (ACLI) can be used to automate bulk updates, transitions, and comments across Jira issues — streamlining repetitive admin tasks efficiently through command-line operations.
Mahima Bothra from miniOrange presented effective strategies for managing user access and optimizing license usage. Topics included automation for user provisioning and deactivation, enforcing least-privilege access, and reducing unnecessary license costs while enhancing security.
Sandesi Nagaraju from ANZ gave an insightful deep dive into Atlassian Guard, highlighting features like intelligent threat detection, seamless access controls, and native enterprise-grade security built into Atlassian cloud products.
Anurag Datta Roy, Product Manager at Atlassian, shared how JSM can enable stronger collaboration between Dev and IT teams. The session emphasized minimizing tool-hopping, automating manual steps, and enabling seamless information sharing across departments to unlock DevOps success.
To wrap up the day, comedian Arnav Rao delivered a fun and witty stand-up set that brought plenty of laughter. With sharp humor and real-life stories, it was the perfect way to end a high-energy, learning-packed day.
Every speaker added their unique spark, making it a truly enriching learning experience.
As someone who engages with the community online, attending this event in person gave me a new sense of belonging.
I met fellow Champions, connected with Atlassian users from various industries, and had thoughtful, real-time conversations about solving challenges in Atlassian tools.
It was more than just listening — it was about sharing, smiling, and sparking ideas together.
A big thanks again to everyone who made this event so memorable — from the organizers and speakers to the Champions and volunteers. The energy you brought made a huge difference!
Two months into my Atlassian Champion journey, this event felt like a milestone — a moment where all the online contributions turned into real-world connection. It reminded me that community isn’t just a platform — it’s a feeling, and I’m proud to be a part of it.
If you’ve never attended an Atlassian Community Event before, take this as your sign — Go for it! Whether you’re a beginner, admin, or power user, there’s a seat (and conversation) waiting for you.
Let’s keep the energy going — in the forums, at future events, and in everything we build together!
