I'm a long time user of BitBucket via Git but rarely if ever look at things online. I received an email from Atlassian saying that if I don't upgrade my system it will be read-only in one month as I have exceeded 1 GB space. I'm happy to upgrade, when this happens, but when I log in and go to where they point me, ('Workspace settings' → 'Plan details' → 'Workspace storage used'.) it says 628MB.
The email came from info@e.atlassian.com
If it's a phishing scam it's a darn good one. Any insight would be appreciated.

There's a chance that the email was sent out prior to an automated gc executing against your repository - so at some point the workspace could have been 1GB.
I can confirm that your workspace is definitely only consuming 627.2MB of storage space, so you're within the limits.
This is definitely not a phishing campaign, you can read more about the changes in our blog post below:
Cheers!
