Bitbucket SSL on IIS.

Jee young-hoon December 27, 2018

We are used Jira, Confluence, Crowd, Bitbucket on Windows Server 2019.

A Server: Jira, Confluence, Crowd, MsSQL (Domain: ex/ https://<my.domain.com>/jira)

B Server: Bitbucket (IP Only)

We configured application SSL on IIS.

Other applications are connected using AJP Protocol, but not supported AJP for Bitbucket.

What should I do?

Hello Jee,

If you’re using Microsoft IIS as the proxy for your applications, then you can connect the following Atlassian tools through said proxy;

  • JIRA server applications (JIRA Software Server, JIRA Core, JIRA Service Desk)
  • Confluence Server
  • Bamboo Server
  • Bitbucket Server
  • Fisheye
  • Crucible
  • Crowd

There is a documentation guide which walks you through setting up the proxy within Microsoft IIS. You may find that guide at Proxying Atlassian server applications with Microsoft Internet Information Services (IIS).

As far as Bitbucket not supporting AJP, there was a change within the product starting in Bitbucket 5.0 which removed the option for AJP. This is due to Bitbucket now starting within it own container. You may find more about those changes in Migrate server.xml customizations to bitbucket.properties.

I hope this clarifies your options for using IIS with the Atlassian tools along with why Bitbucket no longer has an option for AJP.

Regards,
Stephen Sifers
