Bitbucket clone fails with VS team explorer

I am trying to clone a project from Bitbucket in Visual studio 2019 using team explorer . Logged in with the bitbucket extension, But unfortunately, I have a problem. When I start the clone process, It downloads for a while and then stops with an error:

"Git failed with a fatal error.
early EOF
the remote end hung up unexpectedly
index-pack failed"

 And then terminates the download. Can anyone tell me how to get the clone done with out a fail. I have tried with multiple networks thinking that it is an internet bandwidth issue. but it fails all the time. Can anyone help me.
