Caching Built Grails App

Trying to implement pipelines into the project, however it's a rather large project. If the project it built from scratch it can take an extremely long time. Normally when you build a grails app it just needs to compile the files you've changed not the whole project. This requires the built project to already exist in the machine, though. Is there some way I can build this once, then it gets cached so it only needs to compile changed files when a pipeline gets run?
