Can I use VSCode + Bitbucket extension without installing git(Activating Bitbucket features failed)?

Reth January 2, 2023

Hi everybody,

I am using VSCode for my local projects so far. Now I want to move a local project into a Bitbucket respository. For this purpose I downloaded and installed the Atlassian JIRA and Bitbucket extension for VSCode and followed the instructions here (used Bitbucket Cloud for Authentication).

Within the extension description I could not find any prerequisites that git has to be installed on local computer or sth. like that. But when now starting VSCode I always get the error:

Activating Bitbucket features failed

Any idea how to solve this?

Thank you in advance and

Kind Regards

Hi Reth,

Have you solved the problem? If so, can you post your solution here? I've got the same error and do not know the solution, yet.

Kind regards
