Our Bitbucket licence expired yesterday, and we were unable to push code to Bitbucket. Is this new behaviour? I thought the licence was for support and maintenance, rather than the actual product. I thought that after expiry of the licence you could still continue to use Bitbucket but would not get support or be able to install upgrades.
In any case it would be nice if the web application gave some warning about a soon to expire licence.
We are using Bitbucket 5.11 Data Centre
Hi John,
Unlike Server licenses, Data Center licenses are annual licenses, i.e. you need to renew the license each year. Details can be found at https://www.atlassian.com/licensing/data-center

I understand that Bitbucket 4.8.0 added support for a 24-hour notification of licence expiry through the web interface.
We got no such notification.

Hi John,
The warning you're talking about only applies if more users have been granted access to Bitbucket Server than the license allows, not to license expiry.
