Create a user - multiple user directories

Martin July 23, 2020

I have two directories for LDAP configured (two separate forests) but when I create a user, it by default associates with the first directory in the list.

When I do this in Jira, there is a drop down list of available directories but this is missing in Bitbucket.

How can I associate user A with user directory X and user B with directory Y?

(Bitbucket Server v5.11.1)

Yep, only JIRA has this feature so far. For other products, it's still a feature request listed here:

Workaround is to manually put that directory to first in the list before creating the user.

Hi Monique - thanks for the reply. That's a workaround that I'd already discovered by playing aruond but discarded as I potentially have up to 200 accounts to create.

I've decided instead to use the user directory that syncs users instead. It's not as graceful as I now have a load of junk accounts sat in Bitbucket but it'll do in the short term.

Thanks,

Martin
