Does Atlassian back up deleted repositories?

A few years ago, I deleted a code repository in my Bitbucket account, only for now to realize that I need access to the source code. Sadly, I have also deleted all local clones of the said repository.

Is there any chance that Atlassian maintains backups of old repositories, and a cache of my repo can be found on your server somewhere?

Thanks very much,
Paul

They do take backups, but they're only for disaster recovery and they're not retained for years.  I'm afraid your code has gone.

Hi @Paul Berg

In addition to what @Nic Brough -Adaptavist- has called out Atlassian backups are only held for 30 days.

Reference - https://www.atlassian.com/trust/security/security-practices#service-availability

You would need to get a backup service or do a manual backup. You can look for a apps in the marketplace that will help for that - search for either backup or restore in the marketplace.

I didn't say 30 days, but only because I didn't have the number.  I just knew it wasn't long (I would have guessed at 30-90 if pushed), and that is was not years.

Thank you Vish, for finding it!

I am sorry that it's not a lot of help here, I do not think you have any way to recover really old stuff.  If you ever think you might need to, then Vish's Revyz apps are well worth a look, they do a good job of keeping hold of stuff.
