Is there a recommend site where I can download a git binary client for Unix/Linux. Thanks in advance.

Using the package management system for your flavour of Unix/Linux is usually best. http://git-scm.com/download/linuxshows a few different options.

If you don't have one of those as an option, you'd probably be best to build it yourself from source.
