HELP, I deleted large repos and need my storage used to reflect that before April 28th

alvaroefe April 24, 2025

Hi!

I've deleted two large repositories which should bring my overall workspace to well bellow the 1GB limit of the free plan but the storage space used is not any smaller.

I read on another issue that these changes can take up to 30 days to appear in storage used so I'm afraid I'm gonna get locked out on monday the 28th.

Is there a way to expedite this?

Hi @alvaroefe

I can see your storage size is 805.5 MB, so quite below the 1GB limit. Have you performed any cleanup operations - if so, can you tell me the sizes of the repositories that need to be shrunk?

Cheers!

Oh great! It was showing as 1.86 GB  yesterday after I removed some old repos with big histories so I thought I was gonna get locked out

Hi @alvaroefe

That makes sense as once garbage has been cleaned up - this creates dangling commits on the server-side (which inflate the repo size) that must be cleared with a final gc operation. This runs automatically once a certain garbage threshold has been met - so it looks like the process eventually ran and finalised the size reduction.

Cheers!
