How can I prevent developers checking in code against JIRA issues that have already been resolved.

In order to prevent developers accidentally (or being lazy) and checking in code against an issue that has already been resolved (status is done, resolved, closed etc.) Is bitbucket able to pop up an an error/warning when a developer adds the JIRA issue ID to the comments of a checkin?

If you're on Bitbucket Server and Jira On-Prem then you could use the free Control Freak plugin on Bitbucket to accomplish this.

But since you're on Bitbucket Cloud (and presumably Jira Cloud as well) there is not currently a way to do this.

Unfortunately, there's no such feature in the current Jira and Bitbucket integration.
