How do I get the previous task results to use in the task following it?

So I am running a docker task and I would like to know the result of that task whether it failed or passed in order to run my last final script task. 

If the docker passed I want to push a green pass to github but if it failed I want to tell github it failed using APIs and CURL. Right now I am not able to figure out a way to get the status of the docker task.
