How to Invite an External User to BitBucket whose org has SSO enabled

Jake Budin October 23, 2019

Hello Bitbucket community,

I am trying to invite a user to Bitbucket whose organization has SSO enabled. Our organization does not have SSO enabled for Atlassian products.

When clicking on the account activation link, they are redirected to their organization's Okta SSO login, showing a message, "You have not been assigned this app, speak to your administrator"

I assume, once their account is activated, they won't have this issue anymore.

I have guided the user through resetting their password, but nothing seems to work.
These are the links I've found from other questions which have not worked:
https://bitbucket.org/account/password/reset/
https://id.atlassian.com/login/resetpassword?application=bitbucket&continue=https%3A//bitbucket.org/socialauth/login/atlassianid/
https://bitbucket.org/account/password/reset/?_ga=2.151298617.1860727660.1566931470-162300141.1566931470
https://bitbucket.org/socialauth/login/atlassianid/?next=%2F
https://bitbucket.org/socialauth/login/atlassianid/
https://bitbucket.org/account/legacy-signin/

I'm sure this is a common issue, does anyone know how to resolve it that we may invite these folks to our Bitbucket?

Thanks,

-Jake

To resolve this, the opposing organization must add that user to their Atlassian via Okta
