When i add a new user to my Bitbucket (FREE) account is there a way to make the account truly Read Only? Presently while testing this feature by sending an invitation to a test account for myself i was surprised that when i log in as an invited user with read access only i can still download the entire repo as a .zip file.

As the Repo owner how can i control what links are available in the left vertical menu where 'Download' is an option??

Hi, welcome to the Community!

Having 'Read' access means they can see your repository, which means they'd be able to copy it, or download it. What they can not do is to perform any changes to your repository, they'll need write permissions for that.

You can see it more clearly in this chart:

Hope that helps!
