How to disassociate forked repo with original repo

Josh Beauregard

I have a forked repo that has become its own project.

I no longer want PR's to by default for to the original but to the new repo.

Where is that setting?

I can not find this setting anywhere. Please help.

Hi, @Josh Beauregard! Thank you for reaching out to Atlassian Community!

Currently, this option is not available in the UI, but we from the support team can remove the fork relationship between the repositories.

In order to do that, would you feel comfortable sharing the repository name here? You can mask this with *** in the name.

We already have an open feature request to allow users to detach the fork on the UI, as you can see on the link below:

I would suggest that you add your vote there (by selecting the Vote for this issue link) as the number of votes helps the development team and product managers better understand the demand for new features.

You are more than welcome to leave any feedback, and you can also add yourself as a watcher (by selecting the Start watching this issue link) if you'd like to get notified via email on updates.

Implementation of new features is done as per our policy here and any updates will be posted in the feature request.

Kind regards,
Caroline
