I migrated the bitbucket server to the cloud, but for a small change, I need to clear all the data in the bitbucket cloud, We have already a paid bitbucket server license running on my servers, and I need to migrate this in Feb 2024 from server to cloud.
Please tell me how can I delete all the data that is coming from the Server to the Cloud of Bitbucket.
Hi Sudheer,
If you want to delete certain repositories only, you can open a repository on Bitbucket Cloud website, select Repository settings from the left sidebar > select Manage repository (top right corner) > select Delete repository.
If you want to delete the whole workspace, this is also possible. Please keep in mind that this will delete all repositories that belong to the workspace (including any repos that belonged to this workspace before you migrated from BB Server). If the Bitbucket Cloud workspace where you migrated already had existing repos before the migration, you may want to transfer them to a different workspace first or delete the migrated repos individually.
You can delete a workspace if you log in to Bitbucket cloud website, select your avatar (top right corner) > select All workspaces > select the workspace you want to delete > select the cog from the top right corner > select Workspace settings > select Delete workspace.
Please keep in mind that this is an irreversible action, and it may take up to 30 days for the data to get deleted and you won't be able to reuse the same workspace ID during this time. If you want to recreate a workspace with the same id right afterwards, you can change the ID of the existing workspace prior to deleting it to something different. The option to change Workspace ID is on the same page as the Delete workspace option.
Please feel free to reach out if you have any questions.
Kind regards,
Theodora
