Is it possible to turn off in-line file editing for just one Project within BitBucket, while leaving it active for others?
Currently using BitBucket v5.9.1 hosted in our DC on RHEL Linux.
I understand we can turn it off for everyone by setting the following:
feature.file.editor=false
But, we have some Projects that want the feature available and others that want to restrict it, so their people cannot use it.
Any thoughts on how this could be accomplished?
Thanks in advance,
John
Hi @John Burrows,
At this stage, the in-line file editing feature can only be enabled or disabled for the entire instance using the configuration option that you correctly pointed out from the bitbucket.properties file:
feature.file.editor=false
It would be helpful if you could share more details on the use case for this different configuration based on the project. Can you let us know what is the difference in such projects?
Cheers,
Caterina - Atlassian.
Hi Caterina,
Basically, we have one project that the management requested to turn off the ability of their project team members to Edit via the BitBucket Web Dashboard, and force them to have to use some other route, such as SourceTree or Git Bash, or any other medium other than editing through the web portal.
This is the only project out of 64 that wants to do this, so we inquired about the ability to set this at a Project Level without affecting all the other projects.
Thanks,
John
