Hello, good day.
I looking for a solution to backup and restore our repositories is because we currently do it manually with SCM Git Backup. We use the app password to allow us to do so. However, the Bitbucket system sent us a message that the app pass will be discontinued and instead we have to use the API Token. From what I read, GitProtect uses the App Pass. My question is, does GitProtect use the API Token?
Or how can I use the API token for SCM Backup?
Hi @Ana Gabriela Hernández, and welcome to the Atlassian Community!
Thank you for your interest in GitProtect! SCM just clones your repositories, while GitProtect also protects LFS, pull requests, pipelines configuration, downloads, and much more metadata.
We've been looking at the tokens since the announcement, and now they provide the necessary access to all resources GitProtect covers. The API token support will be added to GitProtect in the next release, 2.0.6, which should be there soon.
You can sign up for a Custom demo to see how the backup and Disaster Recovery software works and ask any questions regarding backups.
Regards,
Daria
Welcome to the community.
For any 3rd-party application, you can authenticate using your Atlassian email and API token. You can check this link for more info.
