Our Bitbucket install is using Crowd for authentication. We have a group defined in Crowd that allows users access to Bitbucket. We have other Atlassian applications that use this same Crowd directory for authentication.
After adding a new user to the "Bitbucket" group in the Crowd directory, the new user cannot log in to Bitbucket. The bitbucket logs say the username or password is incorrect. However, that same user can successfully log in to the other Atlassian applications using the same username and password. Again, those other Atlassian products are using the same Crowd directory for auth.
It appears this problem is only affecting Bitbucket. Any ideas what is causing this? I've searched the community web site here and have not found any applicable solutions.
Update: removed the problematic user from Crowd's "Bitbucket" group and added a different user. New user can successfully log in to Bitbucket. Removed the new user and added the original user to the "Bitbucket" group. Same problem. That one user can still log in to all the other Atlassian products that use the same Crowd directory for auth. Only Bitbucket is rejecting this user's credentials.
This has been resolved. It was a Crowd configuration problem. The affected user was not configured properly in one of the groups.
