I have been running a project a bit over 2gb for a while. I don't expect it to ever go above 3gb. Anyway, I got hit by the new size limits, so I decided to try the standard plan option to get enough space to continue working. I created a new workspace as required and imported the existing repository. That all worked. But I still can't push changes to the new repository, because it still says I am limited to 1gb.
If this isn't resolved, then I will have to find a different solution. Rejiggering the way that I organize my large files isn't viable right now.

Welcome to the community!
When upgrading a workspace plan, make sure you upgrade the workspace containing all your repositories, as billing is conducted per workspace in Bitbucket. For instance, if you have workspaces A and B and you upgrade the plan for workspace B, only workspace B will have the paid plan while workspace A will continue on the free plan.
I hope this helps
