Purpose of the edit buttons?

If you press the Edit button you get to an edit form field with the possibility to make some changes.

then you make some changes.

for example you realize that the title is actually quite stupid.

So you change the title to a meaningful name.

then you press on the memory button which is offered there.

then you get the message that for security reasons edit and save is not allowed at all.

Purpose of the edit buttons?

The purpose of the button is to allow you to modify the name of the key, as you initially guessed. I've tried in my account and I was able to change it:
