Adding tag with whitespace

Can I add custom tag containing whitespace?

Example: "Custom Tag"

Git does not allow using whitespace in tag names.

Here are the current tag names restrictions:

• Tag names cannot contain whitespace or any of the following characters: ~^:?*[.
• Tag names must be shorter than 255 characters.
• Tag names cannot begin with a hyphen (-).
• Tag names cannot be the same as the name of a branch, or the name of a remote-tracking branch.

You do have the tag message/description where you are allowed to use whitespace and other special characters.
