Bitbucket merge to master trigger Bamboo build.

So I have builds being triggered by bamboo when there's a push to a branch using the Remote Trigger. This works perfectly.

However, I want the same thing to happen when I click the "merge" button on Bitbucket Server.  The code merges into master but the build does not get triggered.  I looked to solve this a couple of ways. 

1) using Bitbucket webhooks, but I'm not seeing that it's possible with bamboo.

2) using a periodic check trigger on bamboo, but I can't seem to limit this just to master, and it may interfere with the Remote Trigger. 

Any suggestions?  Am I going about this the wrong way.
