Can't find "Clone from" in cloud smart mirror setup.

We have recently set up a single local smart mirror instance, mirroring to bitbucket cloud.

We have successfully approved the smart mirror with our cloud account.

I have created a project and added a single repo on bitbucket. I then went through the Smart Mirror settings and added that project to the mirrored projects, and it looked like it went through some syncing process.

If I read the instructions, it says that I should check the "Clone From" from some drop down menu under the clone button, however, I do not see this option. Does it not exist because there is only one mirror?

If so, is there no way to clone from that local instance directly? It would be nice because most people are on that network and could clone quickly from that machine, it seems silly that we would have to go outside of our network and then back in just to fetch/clone something remotely.

Thanks for any help

Hey Juan,

Sorry I did not respond earlier as I was on vacation.

They said this is a known bug, and gave me a work around.

  1. Navigate to Bitbucket Settings >> Labs
  2. Disable the feature "New Source Browser experience by clicking the slider
  3. Refresh the repository and click "Overview" tab and you should be able to see the option to select Bitbucket Mirror.

However, this workaround did not work for me as I did not have the "New Source Browser" enabled. Hopefully it works for you. I played around with the settings and have had no success.

I was hoping there was some way to manually determine what the address is, but I was unable to figure it out. If I come up with anything, I'll post it here. Would like it if you do the same.

Hi Charles,

Yes you should be cloning from the local mirror to speed up the process, here are the steps that you should follow after the mirror is successfully setup:

work-with-bitbucket-smart-mirroring

To setup the mirror please follow the steps listed here:

set-up-bitbucket-smart-mirroring

Hope this helps.

Thanks for the response.

However, the first link is what I followed, and it says that once I mirror the project, I should click the clone link from the repository and then select the local address from the drop down menu. However, there is no drop down menu and the only clone link I see is for the bitbucket cloud.

I can see in the logs of our local mirror that the project has been mirrored, at least it says it has been "created and configured successfully" and I see it in the mirrored projects, so I'm not sure why I can't find this drop down menu.

I've tried to manually set the push origin url, but have not had any luck.

The second link you gave is dead.

Hi Gary,

Thank you for clarifying.

In this case we will need to ask you create a Support ticket with Bitbucket Cloud team and provide details of the repository URL and the Mirror instance.

Since this is a public forum, we cannot have your private information posted on here and we need more details to investigate your case.

Thank you.

Yana

Okay, thanks Yana. I will go that route.
