Hi,
BitBucket has this great feature that lets me use it to host a static web site, see http://confluence.atlassian.com/display/BITBUCKET/Publishing+a+Website+on+bitbucket. Having done that, can I also use my own domain name for that site (of course I have full control of the DNS configuration for my site)? I would like to to use http://www.myproject.org instead of http://myproject.bitbucket.org.
Cheers,
Pieter
Bitbucket doesn't support using an A record pointing to the site for now. There are other ways this could be accomplished somewhat through DNS and an iframe or a redirect. Check out https://bitbucket.org/site/master/issue/4333/support-a-records-for-static-hosting for the request to support A records on Bitbucket.
