Customize Buttons on Pull-Request View

Daniel Schumacher May 17, 2018

Hello !

Our Team decided to use "Decline" instead of "Needs Work".

Now my question: Is it possible to customize the buttons that are presented by default?

We want a Button "Decline" instead of "Needs Work". So that we do not have to open "..." in order to click "Decline" in the drop down menu.

(see screenshot attached)

Thank you very much in advance

Hey Daniel, unfortunately we don't have any plugin points that support adding extra action buttons to the pull request view.

To see which plugin points are available you can add the following string to the current Bitbucket Server page you are viewing:

bitbucketUrl/page/that/you/are/viewing?web.items&web.panels&web.sections

To read a bit more about adding some plugin points to a pull request, this is a great example

Hi Daniel,

Thanks for raising this question here.

I'm Tim, a designer on Bitbucket Server. I'm interested to know the reasons why you decided to use ‘Decline’ instead of ‘Needs Work’.

Could you elaborate more on that decision, if possible? (e.g. what ‘Decline’ offers that ‘Needs Work’ didn't.)

Cheers,
Tim

Hello Tim !

Yes of course:

We have 2 reasons for that decision:

i) We want the author of the branch to be able to push multiple times without a state transition. And when he has worked on every comment / task from the reviewer he must be able to set the info "I am finished, please take a look" actively. But there is no button like this when working with "Needs Work".

With "Decline", the author has the ability to "Re-Reopen".

ii) We connected Jira + Bitbucket and have some automatical state transitions of Jira Issues based on Bitbuckets events. (TO DO -> IN_REVIEW) (IN_REVIEW -> TO_DO)

We did not find how to configure this automatical state transitions with "Needs Work"

Kind regard

Daniel

PS Another issue we would appreciate very much is

https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/BSERV-7534

We would like to have the original comments of the reviewer in the DIFF View when the reviewer reviews what the author has done based on the comments / tasks.
