Delete source branch when merging active for default is a very bad bad thing...

Hallo, the checkbox "Delete source branch" when merging a pull request is selected for default. Last week a collegue deleted for error a very very important branch with this functionality.

Rather it would be better at the contrary?? If I want to delete a branch I check explicitely the option!

Think about it please!

It's in the settings of a repo or project. In Workflow -> Branches. Just set "Branch deletion on merge" to off
