Hello,
I’d like to know if it’s possible to allow certain collaborators to bypass the merge checks. The goal is to apply the merge check policies to everyone, but let a few specific users merge without having to meet all the validations. Currently, my configuration looks like this:
If I enable the last option, it blocks everyone—including administrators—from merging without all checks passing. Is there a way to exempt specific users (e.g., admins) from these restrictions while keeping the checks in place for everyone else?
Thank you!
Thank you for reaching out to the community.
Unfortunately, it is not possible to exempt specific users while enabling the setting.
What you can try, however, is to create your own custom merge checks.

I understand that if you enable the 'enforce merge check' option, PRs can't be merged, even by users that have branch merge permission.
There is a way to achieve this with the Workzone app we have made for BB Cloud.
With the correct setup any user with PR merge branch permission can merge a PR, while for other users the PR merge-checks are enforced.
Workzone enforces Bitbucket merge-checks and it also provides its own additional fine-grained merge-checks.
If you like to give it a go - please check out the app's doco.
Best, Ulrich
