How can I trigger a garbage collection on a repo?

I got a warning on a repo of mine called 'algorithms' about its size. I've run some garbage collection on it, and managed to shrink it locally. However, it's not shrinking on bitbucket. How can I run git gc on this repo? Thanks

I have triggered GC on the affected repository, and its size remains at 1.6 GB. You'll need to further reduce it. Please check our guide here on how to reduce your repository size.
