Hello,
Currently it's possible for a repository admin (with no additional workspace permissions) to invite/add users to a repository by entering an email address.
This triggers an invitation to the email address, and if it's accepted the new user is added to the account (+1 license) and of course will be given access to the repository.
We need to restrict the invitation of users to be done only by workspace administrators (users in groups with "Administer workspace" permissions).
Is there a setting for this, is it a bug or is it by design?
Thank you in advance.
Best regards,
Carlos Gamito
Hi Carlos,
This behavior is by design. When a user is a repository admin, they can access all repo settings and also invite/remove users to/from this specific repo.
We have a feature request for preventing users with direct repo admin access from inviting/removing users to that repo:
I would encourage you to add your vote and any feedback in that ticket if you'd be interested in this.
At the moment, the only way to prevent this behavior would be to give users write access only to the repo, instead of admin.
Kind regards,
Theodora
Hello Theodora,
Thank you for the feedback.
Best regards,
Carlos Gamito
