Dear @Caterina Curti

Thanks for your help.

However, now I'm considering to move to BitBucket Cloud to make it stable. So Could I import existing data into cloud ?

Best regards,

Hieu Nguyen

Hi @Cong Hieu,

You can follow the instructions on the Import a repository page to import a Bitbucket Server repository to Bitbucket Cloud.

The Bitbucket Server repository needs to be accessible by the Bitbucket Cloud site for the initial connection and the import to succeed. Alternatively you can push the cloned repository directly from your workstation.

Cheers,

Caterina

Hi @Cong Hieu,

The high level steps provided by @Yogesh Mude (thank you!) are valid.

There is also a document from us with all the required details and some additional options based on the current setup. Here it is:

The steps as follows..

  1. Stop Bitbucket Server.
  2. Make an archive (such as a zip file) of the Bitbucket home directory.
  3. Copy the archive of the Bitbucket home directory to the new machine and unzip it to its new location there.
  4. Install the same version of Bitbucket Server from scratch on the new machine.
  5. Redefine the value for BITBUCKET_HOME, mentioned in Step 2. above, in the new <Bitbucket Server installation directory>, using the new location for your copied home directory.
  6. If you are continuing to use the Bitbucket Server embedded database, or you used the Migration Wizard to move the Bitbucket Server data,
you should now be able to start Bitbucket Server on the new machine and have all your data available
  7. If you moved the Bitbucket Server data by performing a database export and import, carry on to Step 4. below to update the bitbucket. properties file in the <Bitbucket home directory>.
