BitBucket service fails when starting

Please assist. I tried installing the program twice and get this error.

The Atlassian Bitbucket AtlassianBitbucket service terminated with the following service-specific error:
Incorrect function.

• Are you running this on Windows or Linux?
• What database are you running on the backend?

I see this most commonly on Windows systems and there is a great article that usually helps titled  Bitbucket Server service (64-bit) fails to start - not a valid Win32 application:

Cause

1. You have a 64-bit OS and you skipped the custom changes that have to be done to your new installation.
2. There is a mismatch between the Java JVM (32-bit) and the Bitbucket Server binary (64-bit).

If you are using Windows follow the steps in Bitbucket Server service (64-bit) fails to start - not a valid Win32 application and let us know if that helps.

Thanks so much Branden. I am running Jira on a Windows Server 2012 R2 VM. Backen DB is SQL. I'll take a look at that kb.

I am facing similar issue.But really cant find any help to fix it.Not a Bitbucket expert.
