Bitbucket does not start on its own anymore (recently upgraded)

The bitbucket properties show an automatic startup type however the service is stopped and when pressing start it will not start up.  This happened after upgrading to the latest version however it was resolved by allowing permissions to the C:\atlassian\bitbucket_data\shared\bitbucket.properties file.  Unfortunately this time the service will not start and there are no errors in the event log. We have not changed anything with bitbucket.  Note, Jira is working fine

I was able to resolve this.  Accidentally stumbled upon some batch files to setup the user/home data dir/and run service.  I ran the batch files and the server started up.

Worst upgrade experience however (2 errors; unintuitive)

Also, this works manually only when running the batch files.  I actually had to reset the atlbitbucket local windows password and update all services to utilize this password for the access to go through
