HI!
I would like to search across all our 296 repositories for files named "customContent.jsp", but I could not find out how to do it.
Is is possible, or will we have to buy FishEye?
Clarification: I can search for file contents just fine, but I cannot search for file names.
Hi Niels,
ElasticSearch is intended to perform search on repository name and content of code only. Installing a separate ElasticSearch on remote will not resolve this issue. The remote ElasticSearch intended for Bitbucket Data Center which does not bundle ElasticSearch in the install or upgrade package. Do refer to BBS ver4.6 release note to understand further: https://confluence.atlassian.com/bitbucketserver/bitbucket-server-4-6-release-notes-827109988.html
Alternatively, you can try to Smarter Search for Bitbucket (Stash) which may resolve your issue: https://marketplace.atlassian.com/plugins/com.mohamicorp.stash.search-for-stash/server/overview

Has any progress been made on the ability to search by file name through repositories?

Baskar,
This functionality is sorely needed, and its absence in bitbucket is inexplicable. The fact that it exists in a paid plugin, which you are shilling for your own company, is appalling.
Every Open source alternative to Bitbucket has this feature. You should be ashamed.

If you are on BB 4.6, Use ElasticSearch https://confluence.atlassian.com/bitbucketserver/install-and-configure-a-remote-elasticsearch-instance-815577748.html

We are on BB 4.6. Are you sure that installing an external ElasticSearch would give us more features than the embedded one - we only have one BB server?

Hi Niels,
It is not possible to search for files in the Bitbucket Server. If you intended to use this feature then you should be getting FishEye - https://www.atlassian.com/software/fisheye?_ga=1.2404150.742961621.1478763751
