Can the commit message be edited when Stash is squashing multiple commits?
Right now it looks pretty verbose especially if there are a lot of commits being squashed
thank you
Hi @Dragos Ionel ,
Is your question regarding a self-hosted instance of Bitbucket Server (previously known as Stash), and if so, what version of Bitbucket server are you using?
I see that your question has the tag 'bitbucket-cloud', but you mention Stash, so we would need some clarification on what product you are using (and what version, if this is a self-hosted instance) so we can better help you.
Kind regards,
Theodora

Hi @Dragos Ionel ,
Thank you for your reply!
Editing the commit message when merging a pull request in Bitbucket Server is possible as of version 6.7.0, see the following feature request:
I'm afraid that in earlier versions this is not possible.
If you'd like to use this feature when merging a pull request in Bitbucket, you'll need to upgrade.
Another option would be to squash the commits on client side. You can check in the following question Michael Heemskerk's answer:
He gives detailed instructions on how you can do the squash locally, in a way that Bitbucket Server will also recognize that your pull request is merged.
If you have any questions, please feel free to let me know!
Kind regards,
Theodora
