Hello,
when I installed Bitbucket Server I naively expected to have the same interface that I had in Bitbucket cloud. Of course that's not true, now I understand that.
I am wondering how I can have in Bitbucket server a sidebar similar to Bitbucket cloud, with buttons for Repositories and Projects. It's important for us that each user has a clear view on which repositories he has access to.
We also installed Jira and linked it with Bitbucket. I was expecting to see a button similar to Issues in the sidebar, but can't find it. Any suggestion? Thanks
Bitbucket Server and Cloud do indeed look different, and have some other differences as well other than looks of course.
Bitbucket Server doesn't have a sidebar similar to the one in Bitbucket Cloud, however there is a top menu bar that is always present and allows you access to the dashboard, projects and recently used repositories.
Note that the Bitbucket logo here is what links back to the dashboard.
Once in a repository there is a sidebar that has links to view branches, commits, pull requests, clone, etc.
When Jira is linked to Bitbucket Server you won't get an "Issues" link in the sidebar; the Application Link with Jira is used to resolve, for example, issue keys that are mentioned in branches, commits, comments, etc. You can also create a Jira issue from a comment on a pull request.
Note that repository admins can add a shortcut to individual repositories to link to its Jira project (and other useful places).
Hope this helps :-)

Thanks a lot, John. That was helpful.
Do you have suggestions on how to show a repository list like the one in Bitbucket cloud? Our users are a bit confused because they are used to have a comprehensive list of their repos as in https://bitbucket.org/dashboard/repositories, while in Bitbucket server this (essential?) feature seems to be missing. Any help?
I know that I can search for a repository from the search bar, but indeed that's not quite as useful.
Thanks!

Hi Daniele,
Bitbucket Server doesn't have a single place to view all repositories a user has access to, in the UI they are all grouped under projects.
There is a REST API for this that can be used, but as far as I know, there isn't a Marketplace App that utilises this to provide a comprehensive repository list.

John
