Project / Repository permission

Hello.

Is it possible to limit what repositories a user sees in a Project?  Like give blanket access to the whole Project but then limit what repository a user can't see.

The scenario is this.

  • user1, user2, user9 all belong to group Widget
  • Widget allows write access to ProjectA under the project's settings
  • ProjectA has three repositories, R1, R2, R3
  • user1, user2 have write access to all repositorties under ProjectA (R1, R2, R3)
  • user9 only has write access to R1, R2 and can not see R3

I'd like to have an 1-to-1 correlation between our products and BitBucket Projects but we have a couple products were some modules of the product cannot be available to a limited set of users.

Thanks.

Hi Jonny! You won't be able to do that as permissions in Bitbucket are additive. If you have user3 in group Widget, and group Widget have access to all the project's repos, user3 will have access to them too. You'll need to take user3 out of that group and assign him repo permissions separately. You can learn more at Bitbucket Cloud permissions.

Hope that helps!

I thought that might be the answer but had to ask for my own clarity.

Thanks,

Jonny
