Repository transfer - Pipeline SSH keys and variables

Nikhil Lakshmisha March 12, 2025

Hi,

I was looking to transfer repositories between workspaces. However, I was not able to find any information on if the transfer would also cover the pipeline SSH keys and repository variables. The documentation here says deployment variables are not automatically transferred. Does that imply all other details of the pipeline setup is going to be?

Appreciate som clarity on this.

Thanks

Hi Nikhil,

The documentation you referenced is correct. When transferring a repository between workspaces, deployment variables do not carry over.

We currently have an open feature request to allow the transfer of deployment variables - BCLOUD-18453.

I encourage you to vote on this ticket to boost its visibility and add yourself as a watcher to receive updates on its progress. For more information about how Atlassian handles and prioritizes new feature requests, please consult the Implementation of New Features Policy.

As for the pipeline SSH keys and repository variables, the pipeline SSH keys are not transferred. However, the repository variables are transferred.

After completing the transfer, you'll need to re-enable pipelines (Repository settings > Pipelines > Settings) since this feature is disabled post-transfer.

I hope this help clarify.
